Prince Harry and his wife, Megan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, just announced that they had stepped down from the British royal family, and revealed that they would live between the United Kingdom and North America while working to be financially independent, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced in an official statement via their Instagram account: “After several months of Thinking and internal discussions, we chose to make a transition this year, and we started to take a new step-by-step role within this institution. ”

The statement added: “We intend to retreat as members of the royal family and work for financial independence while continuing to provide full support to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, especially during the past few years, we feel ready to make this amendment.”

They stated in the step-down speech: “We are now planning to strike a balance between our time in the United Kingdom and North America, and to continue to respect our duty to the Queen, the Commonwealth and our care.”

The statement continued: “This geographical balance will enable us to raise our son with appreciation for the royal traditions in which he was born, while also providing our family with space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.”

“We will announce the full details of the exciting next step in time, as we continue to cooperate with Her Majesty the Queen, Prince of Wales, Duke of Cambridge, and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deep thanks for your continued support.”
