“The court acquitted Hossein Feridoun on some charges against him, while he was sentenced to prison in connection with other corruption offences ,” the head of the state judiciary complex in Tehran, Qazi Hussain, was quoted by the Fars news agency.
Iranian court has set the example to send brother of Iranian president Hassan Rouhani to the jail on Saturday.
Qazi Hussain said details of the verdict will be announced when the verdict was final.
Feridoun, Rouhani’s special adviser, was arrested in July 2017 before being released on bail and has been under investigation since then, according to local media.
Reports said Hussein Feridoun was accused of embezzling 15 million dollars and being involved in one of the major economic corruption cases and receiving numerous bribes.
