The hot weather caused several fires in different parts of Israel on Wednesday, fires from the north and south, as well as the West Bank and Gaza Strip, due to weather conditions and high temperatures. Residents were evacuated from their homes near the flames, Russian news network reported.
At least four people were treated for inhalation of smoke in different parts of the country, including two men aged between 60 and 35 near the Arab town of Ibalin in the Lower Galilee region, and two women aged 70 and 41 near the town Arab Barta’a in Wadi Ara, in addition to a 64-year-old man who inhaled smoke, in the city of Or Yehuda, east of Tel Aviv.
The Minister of Internal Security, Gilad Arad, said he was following closely and receiving information on the activities of firefighters throughout the country. The fire and rescue authority announced a mobilization and alert situation in its ranks, using planes to extinguish the fire and prevent its spread. The rescue is a high alert, especially as temperatures in some areas have reached 47 degrees Celsius.
The Fire and Rescue Authority appealed to citizens to abide by the instructions and to refrain from setting fire to the fire due to the danger inherent in the spread of fire, which may pose a threat to life, property and nature, and called for caution and attention from any emergency event and to report any fire or smoke.
