France expressed its full solidarity with the United Kingdom, after the arrest of the British ambassador in Iran, and requested the Iranian authorities to abide by all its obligations stipulated in international law, the French Foreign Ministry said through its official account on Twitter: “France expresses its full solidarity with the United Kingdom, after the arrest of British ambassador in Iran yesterday, and we expect the Iranian authorities to abide by all their obligations under international law”.

A spokesman for the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that the arrest of the British ambassador in Tehran is an unacceptable violation of the Vienna agreement, stressing that this matter will be investigated, and the spokesman confirmed in press statements on Monday, that Britain is seeking assurances until this act will not happen again once and for all.

The official spokesman for British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that the British Kingdom had summoned the Iranian ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Monday, to express British objection to this measure.

On the other hand, the British Prime Minister’s official spokesman said that the nuclear agreement is the only arrangement currently available, which prevents Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, stressing that we must remain committed to the terms of the nuclear agreement.

Commenting on the latest developments concerning the stricken Ukrainian plane, which was shot down by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, the official spokesman for British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that Britain will continue to do all it can to achieve justice for the families of the Ukrainian plane’s dead, including their compensation.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced in a statement on Saturday that the human error and the wrongful launching of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard defenses had resulted in the tragedy of the Ukrainian plane, stressing that Iran would continue to investigate the incident and hold those responsible accountable, the Iranian News Agency “IRNA” reported that Rouhani said, “With great sadness and regret, I was informed hours ago about the findings of the investigation team of the General Staff of the Armed Forces in connection with the accident of the crash of the Ukrainian passenger plane.

He added, “In the atmosphere of threats and intimidation by the American aggressor regime against the Iranian people, with the aim of defending against possible attacks by the American army after the killing of General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the armed forces were in an extreme state of warning, and unfortunately, a human error and a wrong launch has resulted in a major catastrophe that has left dozens of innocent people dead”.
