Japan made Medallion Tokyo 2020 Olympics from remnants of smart phones

The Olympic medals next year appear to be more unique than usual. The medals to be presented at the Tokyo 2020 are expected to contain metals extracted from recycled instruments, including laptops, digital cameras handheld gaming devices and smart phones.

According to the Metro, the medals were designed by the designer Junichi Kawanishi, who explained that each medal out of 5,000 medals will participate in the Olympics containing metals extracted from consumer electronics handed over by the Japanese public over the past two years. The organization in Tokyo 2020 said that about 78.985 tons of old appliances were collected from all over the host country, including more than 6.21 million used mobile phones.

More than 90% of local authorities in Japan participated in the program, organizers said. The goal of 30.3 kg of gold, 4100 kg of silver and 2,700 kg of Bronze by the time the toolkit closed at the end of March.

The organizers also said that the Olympic Torch Relay in Tokyo 2020 will be partly produced using recycled plastic bottles. The news comes shortly after Tokyo officials disclosed the use of the system, Face recognition in all Olympic Games to maintain security and effectiveness in dozens of locations during the 2020 Games.
