The Japanese Ministry of Health announced today, Friday, that 41 other people were infected with the Corona virus among the passengers of the cruise ship that is under quarantine in Yokohama, which raises the total number of people infected with the virus that causes pneumonia in the ship to 61 people.

The Ministry of Health said in a statement – quoted by Japan’s Kyodo News – that the relevant authorities will transfer the newly diagnosed persons and all passengers of the Diamond Princess, between the ages of 20 and 80, to medical facilities in Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba, Kanagawa and Prefectures. Shizuka, central Japan.

Among the 41 people who have been diagnosed with the Coronavirus, 21 are from Japan, eight from the United States, five from Australia, five from Canada and one each from Argentina and Britain.

The Japanese authorities imposed a quarantine on the Diamond Princess, which carries 2,666 passengers and 1045 crew members off the Yokohama Marina, after it was found that an 80-year-old passenger from Hong Kong was infected with the pneumonia virus that had sailed on the same vessel last January from Wuhan, China.
