NASA warns “Big Ben” size asteroid approaching the Earth

NASA has released the warning on Monday that an asteroid known as the 2013 MD8 is approaching Earth, at a speed of 30,422 miles per hour (mph).

According to the British web portal, the asteroid will be more than 3 million miles from Earth at 17:55 GMT, but NASA sees it as close.

Scientists say the asteroid is about 85 diameters, which means that it is the same size as the Big Ben clock tower or the Statue of Liberty. Asteroid direction yet to confirm.
