Nora Anne Quoirin’s family confirms that the body of a girl found at 1.57pm was an Irish teenager who was reported missing at a resort on the beach, here since 4 August.

Sembilan state Police Chief Mohamad  Yusop said the confirmation was obtained after family members made a body identification of Nora Anne at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital Forensic Unit here.

“The family was brought in for identification of the body and they confirmed the body was the teenager Nora Anne. The autopsy will be performed by a senior pathologist from the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) at 10am today”, he told a media conference on Tuesday wee hours.

Also present were Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Hannah Yeoh and Sembilan Women’s Affairs, Family and Welfare Committee Chairman Nicole Tan Lee Koon.

In a further comment, he said the search and rescue operation at the location of the victim was reported to be ongoing until a postmortem result was obtained.

“The police operation has not been stopped to help us carry out further investigation. We are waiting for the results of the autopsy (confirm Nora’s body), ”he said.
