The first supercomputer called “Bob” was launched in Portugal, which will increase the capacity of the computing system at the national level.

The Supercomputer will increase the efficiency of computer systems tenfold and promote trade and scientific cooperation in data science and AI, according to the Science and Technology Foundation of Portugal.

The Portuguese Ministry of Science said that the high-speed Portuguese computer, which is part of the advanced Iberian computer network, will be used in bio-computing, climate studies and maritime safety, as well as fishing, urban mobility and risk management in forest fires.

A Portuguese newspaper reported that the supercomputer was launched at the new Mino Center for advanced computing in the town of Riba de Ave in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalcio of Mino university in cooperation with the science and technology foundation.
