Russia and India to establish satellite navigation earth stations

Russia and India plan to set up ground stations in both countries for satellite navigation to improve the efficiency of space navigation systems, the head of India’s space research organization Kailasavadivoo Sivan said Monday.

Sivan added, according to the news agency (RIA Novosti) – “We want to establish our own ground station for the navigation system”Navais” in Russia, Russia also wants to establish such a station in India for its satellite navigation system”.

The Russian station will be located in Bangalore, while the Indian navigation station is likely to be located in Moscow.

With regard to the possibility of India to obtain Russian equipment for the manned space mission “Jagnian”, said Sivan “discussions are still ongoing and nothing has been agreed, and we have to decide whether it is worthwhile to buy Russian equipment”.
