“Russia understands the steps taken by Iran and the reasons that led to its implementation, but we call on Iran to refrain from taking further measures that could complicate the situation on the nuclear agreement,” Ulyanov said in a statement on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Tehran announced its adoption of the second step of reducing its commitments to the nuclear agreement in 2015 and to start increasing uranium enrichment to more than 3.67%.

Iran pointed out that the European countries signed the agreement did not take measures to preserve the interests of Iran, under unfair economic sanctions imposed by the US administration on Tehran.
