Google Maps since its launch in 2005, has become widely available and useful to everyone, from seeing the expected time of your trip to exploring restaurants and points of interest. Some useful features that Google Maps may not use much.
Change the time to see the most accurate results
Google Maps can be very useful to find the direction you want to go, and you can change the time to match your flight date to reach more accurate results.
Keep your favorite places list
Click on the icon that looks like three vertical lines, choose your location, click the Saved tab, select Favorites, and then click the Add button.
Use the Navigation tab to see information about everyday driving
The tab makes it easy to see information about daily driving or train trip to work, make sure Google Maps knows your business address by clicking the icon that looks like three vertical lines in the upper-left corner of the screen and then click “Places” to display home and work titles that You saved them in Google Maps.
Once you’ve updated your business address, click the Navigation tab between the “Explore” and “About you” buttons near the bottom of the screen to see details about your route.
Using maps offline
If you drive in a remote area, you may not always have access to a reliable Internet service, which allows you to download maps of specific areas so you can view them without a WiFi or data connection.
Add pause for your trip
Sometimes the trip does not include driving directly from point “A” to point “B”, you may need to meet a friend or stop at a gas station or get a quick meal, so you can easily add a stop like this to the driveway.
After you start your journey, click on the area near the bottom of the screen, where the estimated arrival time is displayed, then press “Search all the way” and find the station you want. You can type a specific address or point of interest like “restaurants” or “gas stations”.
Know the parking lot near where you go
Google Maps does not only help you get from another point, it can help you find parking as soon as you arrive. When looking for driving directions, look for a “P” icon with a circle around it next to the estimated time it takes to get there. Parking is close to this location.
