Syria’s eight-year conflict records the lowest death rate in 2018, as the regime returns to power in most parts of the country, according to warfare monitors, today.

This year, a total of 19,666 people killed due to the conflict that began in 2011, reports Syrian Human Rights Watch (SOHR).

“Since the beginning of the conflict, 2018 witnessed the lowest number of casualties,” said SOHR chairman Rami Abdel Rahman.

It is learned that the British watchdog uses a widespread network throughout Syria to record warfare, following the government’s actions to contain the brutal anti-government protests
