US President Donald Trump said trade talks with China were progressing “very well” but the United States would only conclude an agreement with Beijing if it was the best for Washington.
Trump told reporters at the Andrews Joint Air Base, before he flew to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, that progress had been slower than he favored, but added that China wanted to agree more than the US.
“The talks with China are progressing, and I think very well. If we make an agreement, it would be great or I wouldn’t”, he said.
“China desperately wants to make this agreement but it should be at its best”, he said.
