US President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau discussed the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) during their meeting on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France.

Trump said the US-Canada trade relationship would be significantly expanded once the US-Mexico-Canada free trade agreement was completed, saying it was “a very special agreement”.

The United States, Mexico and Canada agreed last year to amend the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and the legislatures of the three countries must first ratify the new trade agreement before it comes into force.
