Ukraine has agreed to deploy more personnel to the United Nations Mission for Stabilization in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
According to the press service of the Head of State, Volodymyr Zelensky – that this decision was taken during a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council headed by Zelensky.
Committee Secretary Oleksiy Danilov said – at a press briefing – that there is already a unit there, adding that its staff will be slightly increased and the decision was unanimously adopted.
It is noteworthy that Ukraine has been participating in peacekeeping operations in the Congo since 2020, and over the previous days, the Ukrainian helicopter squad participated in evacuating residents from the area of volcanic eruptions in the Congo.
