The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO will celebrate World Science Day for Peace and Development 2019 under the slogan ‘Making science accessible to all, so that no one is left behind’.
UNESCO adopted 10 November to celebrate World Science Day for Peace and Development in 2001, which highlights the important role of science in society and the need to engage a wider audience in discussions on new scientific issues.
By linking science more closely with society, the day aims to ensure that citizens are informed of developments in science.
