The Venezuelan-Russian joint government committee has signed a number of cooperation agreements in the military, technical and agricultural fields, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said Sunday.
“Military-technical cooperation is on schedule and all contracts for support and consultations have been renewed”, Maduro said after meeting Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov in Caracas.
The Venezuelan president said his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow last month contributed to discussing the directions of constructive and multifaceted cooperation between Russia and Venezuela as strategic partners and allies.
Russia and Venezuela have agreed on a number of other projects in the agricultural field, where Russia will invest Venezuela in this sector and provide the necessary technology.
The Venezuelan government has confirmed earlier that the two countries signed during the years of cooperation 264 agreements in 20 strategic sectors, such as energy, military-technical cooperation, mining industry, and the agricultural sector.
