WhatsApp to end support Windows phone by December 2019

Facebook-based WhatsApp announced in a blog about its plans to end support for the Windows phone on December 31, 2019.

Windows Phone will not be able to use the Facebook-owned chat application in 2020.

WhatApp warned in a publication that some of the advantages of the messaging application may stop working on devices Windows phone “Since we are no longer actively developing these platforms, some features may stop working at any time,” stated in blog.

The application also monitors the updated Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page, operating systems where users will not be able to enjoy VoIP, and will not be able to create new accounts or re-check existing accounts.

These versions included Android 2.3.7 and above until February 1, 2020,  iOS 7 up to February 1, 2020 and operating systems Windows phone after 31 December 2019.

It is worth mentioning that WhatsApp support Windows 7 in 2016, coinciding with Microsoft’s decision to end support for its operating system.
