World to witness Blue moon on May 18

The Earth will see an interesting astronomical phenomenon: the emergence of the full blue moon in the sky on the evening of May 18, and this will be the last chance to see this phenomenon. The Blue Moon will only be visible again by August 22, 2021.

According to the Mirror, the moon is full when it is on the other side of the earth like the sun, which means its face is fully illuminated.

While this moon is known as blue, it will not appear blue during the night, instead, acquired by the fact that it is the third of four full moons this season.

Normally, only three full moons appear in one season, making the event rare. “The blue moon is a special event because the extra moon in one season has four full moons, and this usually happens every two and a half years,” NASA said.

It is noteworthy that this moon was known as full flower moon native American tribes, because it appears in the spring, where flowers also begin to appear.
