The first poll of voters, after casting their ballots in the Ukrainian presidential election, the acting representative Volodymyr Zelinsky in the first round by 30.4% followed by current President Petro Poroshenko by 17.8%.
The poll was based on the number of votes until 1800 pm (1500 GMT), the Central Election Commission said in a statement.
A re-run will take place on April 21 if no candidate gets more than 50 percent of the vote.
Ukraine’s leadership is at stake after it became the frontline between the West and Russia following the 2014 street protests that ousted the Kremlin-backed predecessor Poroshenko and Russia’s annexation of the peninsula Crimea, and among the 39 candidates do not want any of the competitors to return to the orbit of Russia.
